New case of fraud with organic eggs

The federal prosecutor at Kiel reports that a farmer woman in Seedorf has selled a hundred thousend of eggs labeled unlawfully as organic eggs. After an anonymous complaint the farmer woman has to answer for the fraud. She is invited on 13st february 2009 to the regional court in Kiel because of professional fraud, misleading labeling of food and infringement of the organic agriculture law in 533 cases. The federal prosecutor assumes that the farmer woman has buyed for years eggs coming from conventional breeding, has mixed them with her organic eggs of her own farm and selled them as expensive organic goods. The farm has 5000 hens and has been a member of an organic producer organisation for five years. The wrong labeled eggs were selled to many organic and health shops in Hamburg and in Schleswig-Holstein. The net value of the goods was over 190.000 Euro, a refers the prosecutor.
